My alarm clock didn't go off b/c i thought i had turned it on. when i woke up angry about my clock...i saw i didn't even turn it on. how stupid is that? and b/c i was scared about being late..i was speeding to work. and whoo-hoooo...I GOT A FREAGGIN' SPEEDING TICKET!!! aaaaaaah! i didn't even see the cop until the lights came on..and he was in the left lane for a little while (i was in the center)...and i, for some idiotic reason, hoped he was bluffing. hahahaha. nope. i got pulled over and he printed me a ticket. that's the cool thing. he had a SWEEET ipaq and just clicked in my DL, my license plate...and boom. a ticket printed up for me in less than a minute. it's like i went to fry's and purchased something b/c the ticket is like the receipts at Fry's. sigh. what great start to the day. he clocked me at 75...and he said "if you were going just 74...i could give you a warning." I said "COME ON, MAN!! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!!!!!!!!!" he walked away chuckling. yeah...go ahead and chuckle knuckle head. then he said 'this is a nice car. what kind of gas mileage you get on this thing?" HAHAHAHAHA> that's like the number one question people ask me when they look at my car. "man...pretty sweet. what's the gas mileage like?" the maintenace guy at my condo asked me "how many miles does it get and how much gas do it hold?" hahahaha. i should put it on the back windshield "yes...this is a new 2005 honda element LX" "i get about 25mpg city, about 27mpg highway." "it holds only 12 gallons of gas." "yeah i love my car. it's pretty sweet." "no i didn't get any options...i didn't even get automatic...it's a standard transmission." What's a post w/o a picture? Hehehehe I saw this on someone else's blog and i fell in love with it. I LOVE THIS APRON!! i wish i knew how to sew so i could make one myself!! sigh..i must learn how to sew. i see so many cool bags and things i could make if i could conquer my fears!!! Lion brand did a good job on the colors. ;) Last night I found a patter for this hat HERE. :) It's very very cute. i need to take pics of this little hat on my mannequin. I showed everyone at Simpatico and they all loved the hat....esp on my mannequin. lol I did another hat like this in purple Heirloom. It's alright i guess. I think i really don't like Heirloom. I love Heirloom breeze...but not regular Heirloom. feels like burlap. I didn't have to work, i didn't want to wander b/c i will end up shopping and spending money. so i came home w/ the intention to clean. (yeah right) I didn't end up going to wal mart last night at midnight. I'm not really allowed to do that after an incident when i went out at 2am to walmart and someone followed me home and knocked on the door at 3am thinking i was stupid enough to open the door. ANYWAY...I went to Walmart today to pick up the lion brand yarn that was a dye lot closer that the other stuff i had bought. I found a match...not exact dye lot...but a match. i'm working on it as I watch tv today. I started off watching the Bold and the Beautiful. i haven't watched this soap in forever. this soap opera SUCKS ASS now. it was never that great in the first place...but in college i got hooked on watching it b/c it was between classes and i would go back to my dorm to wait and nap, watch tv, etc. yeah....BB is off my list of allowed tv. i'd rather watch MARTHA!!! I decided to watch HGTV b/c I like watching Carol Duvall. her show today was about making felted booties w/o the knitting. kind of odd...but cool. i keep on watching b/c they have scrapbooking on after Carol Duvall. I used to be a scrapbooker...but i am no longer one b/c of the INSANITY that ensues w/ scrapbookers. hahah. but i'm watching the show anyway. i hate Sandi Genovese, the host. she is smoking crack!! i really dislike how she hosts the show. and the show is kind of lame. i've discovered the words i hate the most when i watch this show: 1. AD-HEE-SIVE (emphasis on the HEE) 2. TeXXXX-Chur 3. Die-Cut 4. "that's wonderful!!!!" i think i'm adding Scrapbooking to my list of banned tv shows. Then after that....Knitty Gritty is on AND so is Knit One, Purl Two. It's a knitty day for me. ;) i'm starting to think i should ban DIY from my channel favorites all together. i'm never impressed w/ how they put the shows together. and the hosts are usually pretty L-A-M-E. sigh. enough ranting about tv. my god....i have no life besides TV!!! I came out to meet up w/ my parents and grandparents who are en route to Guam. My grandparents havent' been through the UNited States in like 20 years...so i decided to meet them in vegas for some food, gambling, etc. my brother also decided to come to surprise the hell out of them. hahah. it worked. he scared the crap out of them. we laughed and laughed. the last 24 hours has consisted of being a total chauffer and photographer. my mom constantly screaming at me "TAKE A PICTURE OF US HERE. NOW HERE. NOW HERE!!!" aaaaah! i havne't had a chance to gamble, shop or go look at YARN SHOPS! AAAAH! i'm so tired. hahha. i wish i could shop in peace. my parnets and grandparents still treat me like i'm 8 years old. It's a branching out scarf made out of silky wool, green color. so nice. she packaged it SOOO nicely too. she put it in a little basket that had a sheep painted on it. and she included stitch markers and a row counter!! man..she went ALL OUT!! I sent out my scarf to my recipient today. I went back to EP to visit the folks...and to go to my HS reunion. This is a day I have been looking forward to/dreading since May 27, 1994. I was looking forward to it b/c i wanted to see how friends I had lost touch with were doing. I was dreading it b/c i'm not the muli-millionaire I planned on being, nor do i have the hot supermodel body i was supposed to have at my 10 (or in this case...my 11) year reunion. but oh well. Sat was the "mixer" at a bar. I went w/ some friends (hs friends i talk to like on a weekly basis)...and we got to the bar at 930p. The mixer started at 8p. so we thought...arrive fashionably late. We were one of the first people there. i guess everyone had the same idea we had....b/c people didn't start trickling in until about 1130p. the bar crowd was mainly class of 95 peeps...so i didn't know too many of them. shots were $2 a shot....so many many many many many people were going nuts and getting very drunk. i admit i had a few...but i wasn't feeling anything. So i was wide awake to see everyone going nuts. People started to get all freak nasty...it was kind of gross. well, i went outside to sin some more and smoke a cigar w/ my buddies. we came back in....and these 4 hoochie mamas were on top of the bar, dancing and ...it was just kind of nasty. people were reminded of the days of Tequilla Derby in Juarez. hahaha. well, as i was reaching for my camrea to take a pic of the bi-atches on the bar, you hear this noise...then KA-BOOM BOOM BOOOOOOOM. 2 of those drunk girls FELL OFF THE BAR! hhahahahahahahahah!! you heard this OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH from everyone.....then ROARS of laughter. and the one girl that was falling off...she got up and tried to dance it off...which made us all roar in laughter more. alcohol and reunions are bad things. hahahaha. well, as we are leaving.....this girl i couldn't stand back in HS was flagging my friend Gay Joseph down. me and my friend Celina were getting tired...so we just walked over to the car to wait for Gay Joseph to finish talking to this girl. after a few min....we see Gay joseph walking toward us...sooo pissed off. Apparently this girl was asking him who I was...b/c SHE didn't remember me. which is fine. she was a snob in HS and i didn't really expect her to remember me anyway. well, she kept teling Gay Joseph "well I (BIGGG emphasis on I) dont remember her." Gay Joseph got so pissed he started screaming at her.....saying that she was a $*#$# *$#*#...over and over agian. it was pretty funny. i was just annoyed that this girl was all letting people know that she didni't know who i was. so i guess i was supposed to say "oh please remember me...pleeeeeeeeease remember meeeeee." idiot. Last night was the dinner/dance. that was actually pretty cool. it was easier b/c we were all wearing name tags. everyone has gained like 30-40 lbs. hahahaa. made me feel a bit better. people are losing hair...which was shocking. it was a good time. one of the people we graduated w/ is a stand up comic now. and he was SOOOO funny. i saw alot of people that i was friends w/ back in the day and i'm glad i got to see them. ALOT of people i knew didn't go though....which was disappointing. but it's all good. i was dreading going all week, but i'm glad i went. it wasn't like Grosse Point Blank...well not really. again, there was lots of alcohol flowing. so people were getting kind of crazy. hahaha. no knitting got done this weekend. when i go home..i don't have time to knit b/c my parents are always making me do stuff. so i ddin't bother taking any w/ me. i havn't touched yarn or needles in 4 days. i'm going through some weird withdrawls. i used my camrea this weekend. apparently, i should havae played w/ it more before i took it over there. There were times where i coudn't focus right and pics came out blurry. STUPID ME!!!! :( boooooo |W|P|112597647358148361|W|P|reunion...man oh man|W|P|purse.ho@gmail.com9/02/2005 01:52:00 AM|W|P|Jen Da Purse Ho|W|P|I can't figure out how to put my background wallpaper back up. i miss it. none of the things i've found online is working. woe is me. on another hand...a friend's daughter from New Orleans made it to DFW safe and sound. we are so thankful...and I know my friend is very thankful too. we talked to her today at Simpatico about the trials and tribulations. she made it out before the storm really hit. thankful for that. but now of course she doesn't know if she can ever go back. it's fine. it's just stuff she left behind. stuff can easily be replaced. Another friend of mine who owned a store out in N.O. contacted me today and let me know he was ok. i'm so thankful. the last hurricane that happened out there, he and his family decided to stay and leave the store open! he was laughing b/c it wasn't a bad storm and they made a fortune. so he sent me messages today. "hey i'm ok...i'm out...." his family lost their store and their house. their house wasn't insured. not sure why or what. cheap asians. hahaha. but their house is gone...store is gone. i don't think they will ever go back now. that saddens me...but he's in good spirits and he's in Odessa at a rental property that he just happen to buy out there a few months ago. by the grace of God, his tenants moved out on Saturday...and they were already on their way. they just kept driving. his biggest complaint..."Man it's hot here in west Texas". DUH. hahahaahah. i started thinking about N.O. and the Quarter Stitch store tonight. One of my friends was asking me if I had ever gone to N.O. i told him i always wanted to to go to the Quarter Stitch.
